A. Maier Präzision GmbH apprentices are actively engaged: 2,100 € were collected through jewellery sales for Go Ahead! E.V.

Our company apprentices have produced jewellery made of stainless steel, aluminium, brass and wood, and sold it on the Christmas market in St. Georgen on Saturday, 3 December.

For the 6th time since 2008, our training director Peter Kinces initiated this project for apprentices in their first year. As part of their apprenticeship as mechatronic engineer, process mechanic and tool mechanic, Mr. Kinces gives every young person in the company the opportunity to implement their creative ideas. At the same time, care is taken to make the manufacturing process be experienced in its holistical tangibility. This is the way new jewellery collections are created every year: Fürstenberg, Guinness or Tannenzäpfle crown caps are ennobled and processed into fashionable chains. The range of products also includes pendants made of high-quality stainless steel, glass beads and precious woods with Fairtrade coffee beans. Each series consists of 20 to 25 copies, which are generally sold out after short time.

The management team under Mr. Torsten Mann has supported this project for several years and sees this creative processing as an important component of the training.

As every year, there was a great crowd at the stand, and the very popular jewels found many new owners. Full of pride, the apprentices were able to collect a net income of 2,100 €.

Once more this year, the proceeds were distributed to the aid organization Go Ahead!

Chairperson, Anne-Marie Parth, and founding member Wolfgang Bildhauer, visited the company A. Maier on January 26 to honor this commitment. Mr. Kinces gave a tour around the plant and, subsequently, in solemn circle with all apprentices, Mr. Kinces handed over the cheque of 2,100 euros to Go Ahead!

With this money, a summer camp for 150 boys and girls will be carried out in Port Elizabeth in South Africa, where they are given the chance to develop their social skills and to acquire education in health and hygiene topics.

The charity organization, founded by Jan-Philipp Bildhauer from Königfeld, was registered in the association register in Villingen in 2007. Go Ahead is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. During this time period, not only 7 schools/colleges were built, volunteers were given a project site in southern Africa, and were supported in the development of a learning- and an after school center for 400 children and young people, but also regular school workshops are held throughout Germany. Go ahead! E.V. works 100% on a voluntary basis and all donations flow without deductions in the projects on site.
